Matthew Fox on Vantage Point and Lost
The season finale of Lost may be next week, but that doesn't mean Matthew Fox will be hanging out in Hawaii all summer relaxing. In fact, he's not wasting any time and is currently in Atlanta shooting Warner Bros.' new film We Are Marshall.ComingSoon.net did manage, however, to catch up with the high in demand actor and while he wouldn't give up anything about America's favorite castaways, he did talk about another upcoming project, in which he co-stars with William Hurt and Dennis Quaid."I fly to Mexico City the day after I wrap 'We Are Marshall' to start on another film for almost seven weeks before I go back to 'Lost.' It's called 'Vantage Point.' It's a contemporary action thriller set in Barcelona, Spain about a kidnapping attempt on the President of the United States."Fox was also coy about this role but did say he will be playing a secret service agent. "I can't give too much away," he laughed."This year I'm not really going to [get a break]," he said. "I've been looking for some films to do. 'Vantage Point' is a film that I've been wanting to make for about a year and a half. It was one that I was actually looking at for my hiatus last year. For several reasons the movie sort of fell apart. It went out of my window and then it came back around to the window of time I had this year and I'm really excited about it. It's a really cool script and a cool story," Fox added. While the vigorous actor thinks he has the stamina to pull off such a crazy schedule, the one thing he's having a tough time with is being separated from his family."I've got two young kids and my wife and I've only been away for a week and I've already really been missing them. Got another two weeks before they show up so that's the most difficult part of it all."And as for Lost, we did try to get something out of him, but it didn't work."I really can't tell you anything. I mean, I know it's frustrating for anyone trying to write stories on the show and it's also frustrating for us, but we get that question all the time and it's something I honestly can't really speak about the show in any way."Fox did comment a bit on the season finale. "It's an amazing finale and it's really cool. It leaves the year in an amazing way, and I mean for me personally as an audience that just gets the story from the script rather than the show, I can't wait to find out how the year is going to kick off next year."
